Community Spirit: Source Vancouver

Back to Blog
This year, Source Vancouver is proud to support the Wildcats Hockey Annual Female Remembrance Day Tournament from November 9 to 11, 2019. Now in its 13th year, this event is one of the biggest female recreational hockey tournaments in BC! Last year it hosted almost 800 players (from ages 7-18) from over 50 teams. Additionally, many hockey teams travel to this tournament from Washington State, and the interior of BC. Source donated a Hugo chair for the raffle table at the event. The Hugo features a Black mesh back that hugs the natural contours of the body, and provides constant comfort throughout the day.Hugo chair donated by Source Vancouver for the event

Source Values Giving Back

Source Vancouver and Source Burnaby are passionate about giving back to organizations that encourage physical activity.  In the past, they’ve sponsored Ridge Meadows Minor Softball, the Lower mainland baseball association, and Kidsport BC. Moreover, they’ve also sponsored the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. If you’re interested in learning more about our community spirit program, read our blog, or “like” us on Facebook for frequent updates. Each of our twelve locations across Canada gives back in their own way, and selects charities and organizations that they’re passionate about. For example, Source Kelowna recently helped furnish a brand new Child Advocacy Centre.

How do You Give Back?

Whether you volunteer at your kid’s school, or you help out at a local food bank, giving back to the community fosters humility and kindness. With the holiday season approaching, it’s easy to get wrapped up in buying presents and festivities. However, consider taking the time to appreciate what you have and help the less fortunate. Throughout the months of November and December, Source will be sharing additional community spirit stories. Stay connected with us by subscribing to our blog and receive updates whenever a new post is published. Additionally, visit our Vancouver store to learn more about its charitable giving program and browse our showroom while you’re there. A new office chair or desk can make the perfect holiday gift.
