Source values giving back to the community. For example, Source Kelowna recently sponsored the Harvest Ladies Amateur Two-Ball Golf Tournament on July 22, 2019.
Significantly, the live auction at the tournament raised $23,500 for
Mamas for Mamas. This charitable organization supports mothers and caregivers in crisis. It provides ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. It’s
offerings include a pregnancy and infancy loss support program, a sustainable nourishment program, mamas at-risk comprehensive support program, and a mental health and wellness program. Additionally, it provides a free store for struggling families. The store has clothing, shoes, seasonal wear, formula, diapers, and baby furniture.
Mamas for Mamas Executive Director, Shannon Christensen, was thrilled with the amount raised and indicated where these funds are most needed.
“Thanks to the Harvest Ladies two-ball golf tournament raising $23,500, we will be able to provide emergency crisis support to hundreds if not thousands of families falling through the cracks! We support families who have been to countless agencies and turned away for countless reasons. At Mamas for Mamas we find ways to say yes to preventing homelessness, to supporting domestic violence survivors, to filling the gaps in poverty relief in our local and national community. These funds will be instrumental in providing emergency crisis relief for the “fill the gap” dental program, and the resource navigation and at Mamas at-risk program. We are stronger together, and so incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Mamas movement. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us be the change we need to see in the world.”
